This is going to be a long post and will be updated frequently.
I spend a lot of time listening to music. More than TV, more than reading. I have some opinions.
How you listen to music is important. I prefer over-the-ear headphones, then earbuds, then speakers.
Headphones. Sennheiser Momentum 3, soon to be replaced by Sennheiser Momentum 4. I have a collection of headphones including Sony and Bose. None come close in sound or comfort.
Earbuds. Sennheiser, Sony, or Jabra. Close call. I have the best of all three. Prefer the Sennheiser. Yes, I have Apple. I rarely use them.
Speakers. I’ve given up on speakers.
Eva Cassidy Eva Cassidy died young. The greatest singer of all time.
Mick Fleetwood talking about her.
I don’t understand why this singer isn’t famous in the USA. Imelda May
God: Bob Dylan – License to Kill (Official Video) or Bob Dylan – Don’t Fall Apart on Me Tonight (Version 2) (Official Video)
My favorite orchestra: Chamber Orchestra of Europe Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral” – Beethoven
My favorite performer: Eilen Jewell Eilen Jewell “Sea Of Tears” or Paradiso Sessions: Eilen Jewell – Rich Man’s World
My 2nd favorite performer: Sade – The Sweetest Taboo (Live Video From San Diego) Sexiest singer?
The world’s most beautiful woman is also a great singer and has (had?) an incredible TV show in Germany. She only sings with the most talented musicians so it’s natural she sang with the world’s best male singer. Here they are: Helene Fisher and Tom Jones – Sex Bomb (Can we hear it for the dress?) The nuances in this performance are seemingly endless.
Tom Jones & Rhiannon Giddens – St. James Infirmary Blues [HD] Jools’ Annual Hootenanny 2015/16
Hate bagpipes? Try Helene Fisher – Amazing Grace
She does not always wear dresses Helene Fisher and Andreas Gabalier
Another musical instrument you didn’t know you liked: Helene Fischer and Melanie Oesch – Atemlos durch die Nacht
She speaks several languages: Helene Fischer and Luis Fonsi – Despacito & Échame La Culpa
The worlds’s best female singer is Jessi J. She replaced Whitney Houston. Here she is:
Jessi J and Tom Jones – You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ (can we hear it for the dress?) at the 2015 Grammy’s.
Here’s proof she’s better than Houston: Jessi J -I Will Always Love You (can we hear it for the dress?)
Want more: Jessi J- I have Nothing or Jessi J – Bang Bang (can we hear it for the dress?) or Jessi J – Price Tag (busking at Camden)
The world’s best male singer is Justin Timberlake. Justin Timberlake – Suit & Tie (Live on SNL) ft. JAY Z This is the best musical performance ever on SNL. CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN shoes. Tom Ford suit. Wow.
World’s best voice is a hard one but I keep coming back to Morgan James.
An explanation of why she’s so good: Morgan James and Seth Rudetsky
Weiner Nusim Foundation Interview with Morgan James
Scott Bradlee & Morgan James at Paste Studio NYC live from The Manhattan Center
World’s best guitar player is Molly Tuttle. Molly Tuttle – White Freightliner with a camera on the guitar. Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings – Sittin On Top Of The World or Molly Tuttle – Gentle On My Mind
World’s best alto saxophone player. No contest. Candy Dulfer. Candy Dulfer and Dave Stewart – Lily Was Here Prince thought she was the best. Michael Jackson also. Van Morrison also. Most sax players just play notes. Dulfer throws in notes between the lines constantly. Nuances. Stewart wrote this song for a movie that’s hard to come by. Stewart is the guitar player who made Annie Lennox famous. He’s one of the world’s best guitar players.
Candy Dulfer – Lily Was Here (Baloise Session 2015 with Intro) (can we hear it for the dress?) Her guitar player is Ulco Bed, a very famous guitar player you’ve never heard of because you live in the good ole USA and you think Taylor Swift is a good musician.
